  • WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY 2018

World Mental Health Day 2018 will focus on young people and mental health in a changing world.

Imagine growing up in our world today. Constantly battling the effects of human rights violations, wars and violence in the home, schools and businesses. Young people are spending most of their day on the internet – experiencing cyber crimes, cyber bullying, and playing violent video games. Suicide and substance abuse numbers have been steadily rising and LGBTQ youth are feeling alone and persecuted for being true to themselves. Young adults are at the age when serious mental illnesses can occur and yet they are taught little to nothing about mental health.

How do we expect our young people to grow up strong, resilient and able to break the cycles of abuse, violence, substance use, and internet overload? What happens when a young person experiences trauma – over and over? Where are the services? Where is the information and awareness about mental wellbeing?

The World Federation for Mental Health will be focusing the 2018 WMHDAY campaign on Young People and Mental Health in a Changing World. We want to bring attention to the issues our youth and young adults are facing in our world today and begin the conversation around what they need in order to grow up healthy, happy and resilient.

Lets all use this year to emphasize the needs of our young people. Its time to take a stand and demand more for this vulnerable population – our future depends on it! #worldmentalhealthday,

In 2017 the theme was mental health in the work place.

Like previous years, DANA will organise Mental Health Book Fair on 6th & 7th October 2018 at its premises at Jodhpur Park. Various organisations and publishers will their books on psychology & mental health. The fair will remain open on both the days between 12 & 7 pm. All are invited to sample and buy books on discounts.

Mental Health Week 2018

  1. On the occassion of World Mental Health Week a book fair and a daylong workshop on this year’s theme “Young People and Mental Health in a Changing World” will be organised at DANA on Sunday, the 7th October 2018. Interested participants may contact DANA Reception for registration.

Workshop on ‘BORDERLINE DISORDERS’

A Daylong Workshop on ‘Borderline Disorders’ will be held at DANA on Sunday, the 2nd September, 2018 at DANA. The topics will include Borderline Mentality, Borderline Intelligence and Borderline Personality Disorder. The ain speakers will be Dr Amit Chakraborty and Dr Gautam Bandyopadhyay. Mental Health Book Fair on 9th & 10th October 2017.

Like previous  years A special Book fair on Mental Health will be organised at the DANA premises (15/4 Rahim Ostagar Road, Jodhpur Park, Kolkata 700045) on 9th & 10th Octber 2017. On the Occasion of World Mental Health Day on 10th October, DANA will also organise Interactive sessions with experts on ‘Adolescence Problems’ and ‘Harassment at the Workplace’ respectively.

The Book Fair will be open between 3pm & 8pm  and the Interactive Sessions will start at 4.30pm on both the days. Various Organisations will display their publications on mind and mental problems.
